The Palmach Museum in Tel Aviv is one of our favorite museums in Israel. This immersive experience resonates with the Shatour family, and we are sure that it will inspire you too.

The Palmach Museum tells the story of the underground defense organization known as the Haganah, which was established as a strike force before the State of Israel was established. These young fighters played a key role in defending pre-Israel Palestine from the Nazi invasion during World War II, and they helped to bring thousands of refugees from Europe following the war.

The museum offers a three-dimensional immersion into the Palmach story. You will follow the lives of a group of young Palmach recruits, through the War of Independence, and experience the thrills and excitement of modern history brought to life. You will be invited into an underground grotto to meet the fighters and see how they lived, camping in nature and training in secret. Through the film footage projected onto the walls all around you, the whole family will feel involved in their adventures.

The fascinating personal story of the Israeli fighters is interwoven with three-dimensional presentations incorporating documentary materials from the era, so that you can understand the events that you are watching and their historical importance. The tour starts and ends in the memorial hall for Palmach warriors, many of whom died fighting for the establishment of the State of Israel. The soundtrack of the presentation is delivered through headphones for a truly immersive experience, and it is available in many different languages.

Because of the nature of the experience, visits to the museum are limited to groups of 25 people and must be arranged in advance. It is not suitable for children under the age of 6, but it is wheelchair accessible and lasts 90 minutes.

Shatour would love to bring you to the Palmach Museum as one of the highlights of your next visit to Israel. Talk to us about incorporating it in your customized tour of Israel.
