Dig for a Day

Join an archaeological dig and experience the thrill of unearthing Israel’s hidden past. This Dig-for-a-Day activity is a hands-on experience that combines excavating, sifting, pottery examination, and exploration of an extensive archaeological cave system.

Enjoy a three-hour dig led by professional guides under the auspices of the Israel Antiquities Authorities. It takes place in Beit Guvrin National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancestral home of King Herod. Some of the stunning discoveries from its underground labyrinths are now in museums! This underground program is open to active travelers of all ages all year round and in most weather conditions.
