If you only have one day to explore and understand Jerusalem, what can you expect to see? Shatour are experts at packing a bundle of fascinating experiences into a short visit. We can organize your one-day shore excursion trip to Jerusalem, or a one-day tour as part of a business trip or Israel vacation.

Shatour is the only Israel travel agency based in Jerusalem, so welcome to our home city! Let us show you the highlights of this truly unique city, holy to three religions and buzzing with contemporary culture.

Understand the Old City

You will not believe how much history is crammed into this walled city, covering just one square kilometer. The four Quarters retain their historic narrow cobbled streets and their distinct flavors, including the Roman Cardo and the Via Dolorosa where Jesus carried his cross to his execution. There are stunning churches and synagogues along our route, but with limited time we may have to skip the lines outside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and head to the Western Wall of the Second Temple. As Judaism’s holiest site, we will take a moment to insert your private prayer between the ancient stones. We can ascend to the Dome of the Rock and visit Islam’s third holiest site, and enjoy views of the Garden of Gethsemane and Mount of Olives.

Sample the Culture

Jerusalem’s population is drawn from every corner of the globe and you will hear dozens of languages on its streets. Meet the Arab shopkeepers in the Souk and haggle over hand-made leather work, jewelry and fabrics to take home. In Jerusalem you can and enjoy food from Japan, Thailand, France, Turkey and Lebanon – all in the same street! The street food is amazing in the Jerusalem Mahane Yehuda Market – we predict that you will not be able to resist sampling the amazing produce, spices and delicacies on offer here!

Visit the Museums

If we only have time for one, you must choose between the fascinating Israel Museum, with its reconstructed synagogues and Dead Sea Scroll parchments, or the historic David Citadel, or the Yad Vashem memorial to the Holocaust. We wish you had time for all three!

One day is really not enough for more than a taste of Jerusalem’s fascinating diversity. It is known as the City of Peace, and you may be surprised at how different it really is from what you expected.

Shatour’s expert tour guides are happy to show you around and answer all your questions. We hope that you will be intrigued and entranced enough to want to return for a longer visit!
